The Flower Fields

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of touring the Flower Fields in Carlsbad, California.  I couldn’t help but think that Alabama Oh would love this place!  The people were very kind and the flowers were beautiful.  They had a “sluice box” for children to “mine” for precious gems.  It was fun for me to take a look because I am working on a new series about a Nature Detective.  His name is Jefferson “Scout” John Roosevelt. Scout is the great, great, great-nephew of Theodore Roosevelt.  His father is a FBI agent and his mother is a Forest Service employee. It will be a book aimed at the 6-10 year old kids.  Look for a new book out next month!

Shedd Aquarium’s Penguins

Little things make me smile. Head over to the Shedd Aquarium to see a video of these penguins meandering around the aquarium. Enjoy!
